THE Comcast ONDemand CHALLENGE: Issues and Considerations

We, the people of the comcast challenge are serious about making a difference. When we see problems in the world, we set out to fix them, and we don't sleep until the work is done. That's why when we realized the myriad of issues surrounding more-than-basic-cable, we chose to take action. Over the next month, we will watch as much free on-demand television as possible. Nay, we will watch every single nugget of free on demand entertainment available through the Comcast on demand home entertainment network station.

Think of the problems: we, the New Generation, all purchase Comcast with the goal of being able to enjoy ourselves, to witness and perceive entertainment to experience and eductionalize. However, to get the Fullest Experience, we must continue to pay. We must donate our additional funds to Comcast Center to be able to watch the additional Television that we need to enjoy our Lives. For instance, I want HBO. HBO is where the good television lives. I have to spend more money, donate more funds to Comcast Center than the cost of free on-demand television to get at where the good television lives. This. Is. Unacceptable.

We, as the New Generation, need to convince ourselves that we are able to handle the rigor and challenge of enjoying free on-demand television. Without HBO, what shall we watch? That is at the core of the Comcast Challenge. You will follow us, Red Dragon and Zephyr, through our experiences watching only free on-demand television. We shall report on our adventures. What sort of ideas shall we meet? What shall we be brought to learn, and to witness? We will report out entire ascent of the mountain, twittering and blogging from every Hillary Step, from every Numbered Camp. We might not be the firsts (and certainly not the last) climbers to see the peak, but we shall let you know about every detail in painstaking resolution.

As I've learned through watching MTV True Life: The 200th Episode, the most courageous and selfless thing a person can do is tell their story as honestly as possible in the hopes that it will reach the right people at the right moment---and maybe, just maybe, change their life forever. That is why we have committed ourselves fully to the ethos of a documentarian---no matter what we witness, how involved we get in the lives of these tv characters, how moved we are by their predicaments and how badly we want to intervene--we can't, and we won't. We will only report what we see.
